Hillary's obituary

On January 23, 2022, Hillary Lynn Van Dyke passed away into God’s graces after a long, brave struggle with illness and multiple physical conditions.  She was a warrior throughout her life, as she defied the odds many times before losing her battle at the young age of 45. She is survived by many loving individuals including her dear young daughter, Coral Moon Van Dyke; her mother, Jody Lanham, stepfather Mike Lanham, sisters Morgan Ritz and Brianna Lanham; her ever-caring fiancé, Chris Edwards; cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.  She was predeceased by her father, Capt. Michael Van Dyke, maternal and paternal grandparents: John and JoAnn Coppola; Poppy and Sylvia Lanham; Bruce and Helene Van Dyke.

Born on November 28, 1976 in Bangor, Maine, Hillary lived most of her life in Wooster, OH.  She graduated with honors from Wooster High School in 1994 and attended Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH.  She had many jobs in the Wooster area, as well as in New Orleans, LA, Fort Myers, FL, Berlin & Wilmot, OH; she traveled extensively and spent some time living outside the U.S., in England and Costa Rica.

Hillary, whose life touched the lives of many, will be remembered as beautiful, intelligent and funny, an artist and a nature lover, a loving mother and a woman of many other uniquely engaging qualities.

The following quote seems to represent Hillary's journey:

"There is a road, no simple highway, between the dawn and the dark of night, and if you go, no one may follow, that path is for your steps alone"- Jerry Garcia

A celebration of Hillary will be announced on our memorial website (Everloved.com) and shared on Facebook with detailed information as soon as it is finalized; for those interested in attending, it will be at Coccia House in Wooster, OH in the Spring of 2022.
