Mrs. Hillarie J. Smith, formally Van Otterloo, age 39 of Nashville GA, was born on February 10, 1987, and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, surrounded by her family.  She was proudly raised in Broomfield, Colorado and was a 2005 graduate of Broomfield High School where she earned a softball scholarship.  She played softball and pitched for the University of Northern Colorado Bears, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services.  She met her husband, Robert Smith,  in 2009 and they were married the following year.  They started their family in England, and lived several other places as they moved with the Air Force, before moving to Nashville in 2024.  She was an active member of Hope Baptist Church in Nashville.   She volunteered her sewing talents for breast cancer patients with Pockets of Hope. 

She is survived by her husband of fifteen years, Robert Joseph Smith, three children Ava, Macie, and Jebediah Smith, all of Nashville; parents, Dave and Jean Van Otterloo of Broomfield; two sisters Sarah Morehead and husband Mark Morehead of Berthoud CO, Lizzie Lutes and husband Dan Lutes of North Wales PA; one brother Cody Van Otterloo and partner Mitch Brown of Loveland CO; and several nieces and nephews.
