Memories of Steve are so many. Whether you had just a one time passing meeting or MANY YEARS SPENT with him in the laboratory as a FEW OF US, like Joe Bonafiglia , Bill Freund and I were so fortunate to have enjoyed.

-- AND who could forget Herbie Lyndemeyer.

FOR ME, Steve was a man that I truly loved. From the EDUCATION that he was a constant provider of and the PROFOUND influences he had on my life.

He was a modest  man of great HONESTY and a wonderful source of humor.

  One memorable STORY, that I've often told, that says so much about Steve's INTELLigence, HONESTY and HUMOR is the time when he was finishing up a Friday MORNING seminar on the characterization of SEMI-Crystalline acrylic polymers by Xray defraction.

 As is the rule he ended the seminar and asked if there were any questions. While some attendees, bewildered by the science, were there only for the FREE donuts, one, none other than Newman Bortnick posed an INCITFUL question. Steve, BEING Steve, replied, as only Steve could, in all his unashamed honesty;

"Beats the shit outta me".

I do Hope heaven's ready for Steve!
