Herschel B. Lawhorn, 88, of Sylva, NC, formerly of Perry, GA, passed away on 7/16/2021 after a brief illness.

Herschel was born on 1/21/1933 to Melba and Sirah Lawhorn in Perry, GA.  After graduating from Perry High School in 1951, he went to work on RAFB.   He started Lawhorn Electronics in the early 50's and eventually bought a Radio Shack franchise.  He was a volunteer firefighter in Perry for many years.  After retiring in 1996, Herschel and his wife of 51 years Grace Chestnut spent their time traveling the country.   Herschel was predeceased by his parents and sons Ken Lawhorn and Terry Lawhorn.   He is survived by his wife Grace Chestnut Lawhorn, daughter Janet Tidwell (Malcolm) of Milledgeville, GA, sons Bubba Lawhorn (Debbie), Mike Lawhorn of Perry, grandchildren Shannon Rainey (Kerri) of Evans, GA, Brian Rainey (Staci) of Grand Rapids, MI, Josh Lawhorn (Cassandra) of Perry, Tyler Lawhorn of Clovis , NM, Crystal Watkins (Jennifer) of Perry, Mindy Langley of Perry, GA, TJ Lawhorn of Montezuma, GA, Brook Dean, Ryan Dean and Justin Dean of Alabama  and 12 great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service was held for immediate family members.
