Herman's obituary
Herman Thompson was born on the 18th of September, 1936, and passed away peacefully on the 22nd of December, 2024. A man of great character and kindness. Herman was known for his caring, compassionate nature, his big ideas and the many lessons he imparted on those around him.
Born to parents Dorothy Amend (Thompson) and Wilkin (Bud) Thompson. Herman grew up alongside his brothers Larry and Conrad, who predeceased him. His family was the cornerstone of his life and he is revered as a devoted patriarch.
Herman leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication through his children. His sons, Jeffrey, William, Stephen and Benjamin, his daughters, Julie and Megan, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grand children will forever remember his lessons of patience and humility. Each of them has been touched by Herman's dedication to family, his gentle spirit, and his warm heart.
Awarded the National Landscape Award, several professional Landscape Architect accomplishments, and professional photography. His hobbies included flying and sky diving. Herman was also a man of notable professional achievements. These accolades, impressive as they might be, paled in comparison to the fullness of his character and the richness of his personal relationships.
Herman's loss is deeply felt, and he will be dearly missed. He leaves behind an indelible mark, one of love, kindness, and compassion - truly a life well-lived.
