Herlinda's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Herlinda Pizarro de Narváez, who departed this life on September 3, 2023. Born on March 4, 1930, Herlinda lived a life of kindness, generosity, humility, adventure, faith, integrity, and respect.
She was the second of nine siblings and tremendously kind and caring as her mother, Faustina Arquiñigo Pizarro; along with sharing a love of dance such as her father, Manuel Pizarro. A loving wife to the late Angel Narváez, whom she married in 1951, Herlinda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her children, and an extensive line of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her big-hearted love extended far and wide, creating a family unit rooted in respect and generosity.
Herlinda retired in 2014 from her distinguished career at Marshalls, where she began working in 2010. Despite her professional commitments, she never missed an opportunity to rejoice in the arrival of each grandchild and great-grandchild, cherishing each addition to her family.
Herlinda was a woman of simple yet refined tastes. Her favorite dishes included aji de gallina, seco de cordero, tallarines verdes, and pescado a lo macho. She enjoyed sipping on Heineken and Wine while reading her favorite book, The Count of Monte Cristo, or watching her favorite TV shows, such as La Rosa de Guadalupe. The melodies of Pedro Infante often filled her home, reflecting her deep appreciation for music.
Herlinda was an enthusiast of the game of volleyball and a skilled seamstress, finding relaxation and joy in these activities. She held a special fondness for Lima, Huaral her hometown. The soft hues of beige and pastel mint were her preferred palette of colors, echoing her gentle and serene personality.
The lessons Herlinda shared were simple but invaluable: To treat others as you'd wish to be treated, and always speak the truth. These fundamental principles guided her actions and interactions, leaving a legacy of kindness, respect, and generosity for future generations to emulate.
Herlinda Pizarro de Narváez's rich and meaningful life will be deeply missed by her expansive family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her influence will continue to live on, reminding everyone of her incredible spirit and the important values she upheld.
