Henry's obituary

The family of Henry E. Woods, formerly of Boynton Beach, Florida and Norwell, Massachusetts, would like to announce, with great sadness, Henry passed away on Friday evening, November 2nd. He was 87.

He was a most gregarious man with an infectious zeal for life, family, and laughter. He relished every moment and was always ready for more. He began his career in the Navy during the Korean War and spent the next 50 years as a leader in the architectural hardware industry, starting two successful firms and was a key member in industry groups. Upon his retirement in the early 2000’s, he slowed down by becoming president of the 900 home homeowners’ association of Rainberry Bay in Delray Beach, Florida for the next 10 years.

A devoted family man, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen Woods, his daughter, Nancy Norris and son-in-law Chris Norris of Cohasset, Massachusetts and Luzern, Switzerland, his son, Greg Woods and daughter-in-law Kim Woods of Beverly, Massachusetts, and three grandchildren, Ben Norris, and Nick and Katy Woods. Additionally, he touched the lives of many, being either the surrogate grandfather or ‘Uncle Henry’ to so many more. His devotion to family and friends was legendary and his generosity was available to all. He will be missed by many.

There will be no memorial service, and the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org in lieu of other considerations.
