Love my cousin Henry. Love MY  Gladson-Johnson Fam. Growing up, I was one of the youngest Cousins and Hanky was a Rock Star in my eyes. In all of my siblings eyes. So glad to know him as my cool older cousin and appreciate his fun-loving nature and approach to life. I will always visualize Hanky with that mischievous Gladson grin. See you on the Flipside, Cousin!
Hank was a wonderful person. My deepest sympathies to Hank's family and friends.

Hank's mom and my mom were sisters, and our families were close, though I was the oldest in ours, and younger by a year or two than Tom, the youngest in theirs. We always enjoyed spending time with them in Glenview, IL or later at their farm in Libertyville. An aunt on my father's side and her family also lived in Glenview, and my dad's dad spent a lot of time there. If he happened to come across Hank while driving to morning Mass, he'd make him get in the car and go with him.

Hank was a great favorite with our grandmother, Gerty, as well. When they retired, they moved down to Coral Gables, and over summer break Hank would go down there. She'd put him on a charter boat to do some fishing and pick him up in the afternoon. He was our extended family's Huck Finn, bighearted and well-meaning, and apt to find himself in misadventures. He was very warm and loving, and we'll all miss him a lot. Sending all my love to Mari, Bill, Catherine and Tom and all their families, as well as to Hank's daughter Olivia. He always had a lot of great stories. I hope you other visitors will post some of them here.
