Background
Schools take the weekend off. Hunger doesn’t. For many students the weekend isn’t simply two days to hang out with friends, watch TV, or sleep late. It’s also two days where the possibility of no breakfast, lunch, or dinner could be a reality. Backpack Buddies may help make weekends more enjoyable for those students. It is designed to give nutritious, nonperishable foods to students in need. A backpack filled with food will be given to students every Friday so they have access to food throughout the weekend. Students will return the backpacks to school on Monday. Donations help refill the backpacks each Friday.
Henry and Harriet, along with their LifeGroup at St. Andrew's Church, purchase food each month to pack bags for 240 students at Morningside Middle School. Contribute to St Andrews Church
