Hank's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Henry "Hank" Carney, who left this world on April 30, 2023. Born on March 9, 1944, Hank lived a rich and fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Hank was a charming, humorous, and helpful individual who always put others first. His life was filled with countless acts of kindness and generosity. He was a firm believer in the lessons of treating others with respect and not judging a book by its cover.

A devoted father, Hank is survived by his loving sons, Peter, Michael & Brian Carney and his new grandson, Liam. He was incredibly proud of his three children and their accomplishments. In his professional life, Hank contributed to his community & country by serving in the United States Air Force and serving on the boards of several community organizations as well as achieving success as a local business owner.

Viewings to celebrate Hank's life will be Saturday May 6, 2023 & Sunday May 7, 2023 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at Branch Funeral Home in Commack, NY. A memorial Mass will be held on May 8, 2023, at 10:30 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Church with the burial following on May 8, 2023, at 12:15 AM at Calverton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to to the fund we created for a community project in his name. Those donations can be made at everloved.com/life-of/henry-c…. Your support will help commemorate and honor Hank's legacy through an enduring and meaningful community project.

Hank will be dearly missed and eternally cherished in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His wisdom, warmth, and unforgettable humor will live on through the memories and stories shared by friends and family.
