Obituary
Henry worked as an ironworker in his earlier years. He was the youngest of sixteen siblings and was preceded in death by eleven of them, as well as his parents, Virginia Thaxton Byrd and James Byrd. He is survived by his sisters, Angie Odell, Pearl McWatters, and Correnia Chapin, as well as his brother, Jimmy Byrd.
Though Charleston was his home, Henry also spent many years in Charlotte, North Carolina. He had a deep love …
