Henry's obituary

Henry (Ted) Bomgren III

Beloved Father, Steadfast Worker, and Giving Soul

February 9, 1958 – September 30, 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Henry Bomgren, a loving and supportive father, who passed away at the age of 67 after a long and courageous battle with dementia.

Henry was the kind of man who never hesitated to lend a hand — whether it was helping a neighbor with a project, showing up for a friend in need, or putting in extra hours to support his family. He believed in the value of hard work and lived his life with quiet strength and humility.

As a father, Henry loved his children deeply and showed it through the countless everyday acts that spoke louder than words. Henry was a truly giving soul — always willing to share his time, his tools, his wisdom, or simply a moment of quiet company. He gave not for recognition, but because helping others was simply who he was.

In his earlier years, Henry owned a restaurant in Hannibal called TJ’s Diner, volunteered his time with the Hannibal Fire Department, proudly ran a farm in Hannibal, was a member of the Hannibal Board of Education, and he actively volunteered supporting the Fulton Pop Warner organization where his children played football and cheered.

When Henry wasn’t working or volunteering his time, you would find him enjoying time with his kids. He loved taking his kids to truck and tractor pulls and demolition derbies.

Though the last years of his life were marked by the challenges of dementia, Henry’s spirit and generosity never faded. His resilience and courage through it all will never be forgotten.

Henry is survived by his wife LeeAnn Bomgren. He is also survived by his loving children Jermey Bomgren (Laurencia), Justin (Kristina) Bomgren, Josh (David) Bomgren, James (Megan) Bomgren, and Jessica (Henry) Shank. Henry is also survived by many grandchildren who he cherished greatly. They will carry on his legacy of strength, and selflessness. To know Henry was to be cared for — and that is how he will be remembered.

Henry is also survived by his mother Geraldine Crisafulli, his siblings Rick (Sandy) Bomgren, Carol Cughan, and Maria (Elias) Baboun.

He was predeceased by his father Henry Bomgren Jr. and his stepfather Charles Crisafulli.

A celebration of life will be held by his children for family and friends at Wetzel Road Church of Christ at 4268 Wetzel Rd., Liverpool, NY on October 18th, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event is being held by his children. If possible, please reach out to Jermey, Justin, James, or Jessica to let them know if you plan to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to organizations supporting dementia research and care.

A special mass will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Fulton, NY on December 27th at 4:00 p.m. in honor of Henry.

Henry Bomgren’s life was a gift to those who knew him. He will be missed deeply, and loved always.
