Hendrika "Henny" Gerarda Dalhuisen, born on April 3, 1938 in Eindhoven, Netherlands passed away peacefully after a series of illnesses on December 20, 2024. She was 86 years old.

Henny was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert Dalhuisen, and her son, Steven Dalhuisen. She is lovingly remembered by her son Ian and his wife Lailani Dalhuisen; her daughter Karen and her husband Gerry Houlihan; her daughter-in-law Nicole; and her six cherished grandchildren.

Henny's life journey was one of adventure and resilience. After marrying Albert, the couple began their life together in Montreal, Canada, enduring seven cold winters before a unique opportunity under the Kennedy Administration allowed them to immigrate to the United States. They spent a memorable summer camping across the country in search of the perfect place to call home, ultimately settling in Sunnyvale, California.

A devoted mother and friend, Henny found joy in many pursuits. Her love for tennis began when her sister sent her a racquet after the birth of her third child—a gift that sparked a lifelong passion for the sport. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, reading, and taking walks with her neighborhood friends. These simple pleasures brought warmth and connection to her life and to those around her.

The family will honor Henny’s memory alongside that of her son Steven with a Celebration of Life gathering in the near future.

Henny’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort and inspiration to those she leaves behind.
