Helene Joy Poticha, 50, of Denver, Colorado, died July 6, 2022.

Helene was born on Leap Day, February 29, 1972 in Denver, Colorado, to Gerald and Myrna Poticha.

Since she was young, Helene had a great love of animals. She fostered that love for creatures of all sizes and earned a Veterinary degree from Colorado State University and practiced as a vet for several years. She was talented both with modern veterinary techniques as well as non-traditional methods such as acupuncture and holistic medicine. She surrounded herself with many different critters she rescued and provided a loving home to over the years, all the way to the end.

Sadly in her 30’s Helene was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and she decided to leave behind the life she knew to enjoy the tranquility of the beaches in Mexico. She was able to live out her later years in Puerta Punesco, a place she loved fulfilling her dream to live on the sandy beaches of Mexico which she felt kept her illness at bay. While she did find happiness there, unfortunately her body continued to deteriorate until tragically she eventually lost her battle with her disease.

She is survived by her mother, Myrna, 2 brothers Adam and David, and many other loving extended family members who will miss her very much.

A memorial service will be held by the family on August 6, 2022, in Denver. Please contact them for details.
