Helen I. Shields (nee Tiemann), 67 of Gurnee, IL earned her wings suddenly but peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2020 with her daughter, Elizabeth and son, Michael by her side. She was a witty, funny, intelligent woman who touched more lives than she knew with her smile and outgoing personality. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Tiemann Sr. and Helen Tiemann, her brother, Edward Tiemann Jr., her sister-in-law Christy Tiemann, her brother-in-law Gerald Beaumont and her ex-husband Carl Shields. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Robert) Cissna, her son, Michael Shields, her sisters Anita (Bill) Spiegel, Laura (Mark) Todd, Rose (Norman) Ross, Gloria Beaumont, her brother Howard Tiemann, and her grandchildren Wyatt, Dominick, and Harley Cissna, as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless people that adored her.
