I am saddened to learn of Helen's passing and am sending my condolences to her daughters.  Helen was my department chairperson when I first began college teaching in the 1970s.  Over the course of my many years in higher education, at several colleges and universities, she was the best.  Over the years we kept in touch, and I was glad I got to visit her on several occasions at her retirement residence in Burlington.  I will miss her.
