A steadfast pillar of her family, Helen touched countless lives with her remarkable dedication, determination, and loyalty. Helen is survived by her loving daughters, Candace Wournell and Ronalda Benthien and her devoted son, Darryl Heppner. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald Heppner, and her cherished sons, Kenton and Scott Heppner. Helen’s life was a testament to her deep love for her family, which included her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Married to Ronald Heppner in 1962, Helen’s life was defined by family and devotion. Together, they raised their children and built multiple homes, demonstrating their commitment and hard work. Achieving her GED in the 1980s was a personal accomplishment that Helen held dear.
A lover of traditional Mennonite dishes, Helen's favourites included borscht and cottage cheese perogies. With a penchant for mystery novels and themed TV shows and movies, Helen enjoyed the thrill of suspense in her downtime. Her competitive spirit shone in friendly games of cribbage and gin rummy.
Helen found joy in simple pleasures; gardening, taking long walks in nature, and embarking on motorcycle adventures with her husband, Ron. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and curling. She found relaxation in music, particularly hymns, and relished in vacation getaways to Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada.
Helen's life was filled with lessons that she generously imparted on those around her. She firmly believed in the importance of treating others well and advocated never going to bed angry. Her resilient spirit will be remembered by all; a woman who was never afraid to step up and push through when times were tough.
