Helen Lorraine Genke (nee Holm), found peace July 15, 2023 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of Herbert Alvin Genke for 55 years. Dear mother of Suzanne (Randall Foeckler), Alan (Diane), Peggy (Dale Flees) and Todd (Maureen). Loving sister of Arnie and Arlene, and the late Howard, Lyle, Earl, Gladys, Dale, and Donald. Grandmother of Brian (Sarah), Jason, Eric (Stacie), Keith (Scott), Shawn (Stephanie), Rachel, Ashley, Grace and Paige. And Great-Grandmother of Arianna, Eric Jr.,Jenelle, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Avery, and Griffin. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Helen grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin with her parents and 8 brothers and sisters. This is where she learned to love cooking and baking. Helen was full of life and energy. She had a strong commitment to her faith and took an active role in her church. She also enjoyed being a child care provider and working at Milwaukee County Stadium cheering on her beloved Brewers. Most of all, Helen was a loving mother and Grandmother who took the time to be everyone’s biggest supporter. She was blessed with a green thumb and always knew the tricks for growing the most amazing vegetables and flowers. She could almost always be found in the kitchen making home made meals and desserts her family adored. She had a wonderful competitive spirit which was evident in her hobbies of bowling, golfing, playing darts and cards. Family was Helen’s greatest treasure and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Forest Hill Memorial Park (3301 E. Forest Hill Ave, Oak Creek, Wisconsin 53154). Visitation will be held from 12:00-12:30 until time of service and entombment.
