Helen V. Fender, 84, of Venice, Florida passed away on July 12, 2022. She was the beloved spouse of Charles Fender, also of Venice. Helen was born in Chicago, IL on August 3, 1937. Her parents were Harvey and Zita Kasky. The family lived in Lacon, Illinois where Helen graduated from Mid-County High and attended St. Francis School of Nursing. Helen worked for surgeons in Peoria, IL and in Brewster, NY. She retired and moved to Venice in 1991. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles Fender, daughters Kathleen Fender of Brevard, NC and Elizabeth Fender and grandson Casey Scott of Charlotte, NC, and sons Michael (Karen) Fender and grandchildren Christian and Brianne of San Diego, CA and Stephen (Tonia) Fender and grandchildren Kyle and Veronica of Pollok, TX. She is also survived by sisters Alice McCully of Lacon, IL and Carol Lindstrom of Varna, IL and brother John Kasky of Lacon, IL. She was pre-deceased by her brother Vincent Kasky of Lacon, IL. A memorial service will be held at Sarasota Memorial Cemetery, in Sarasota, FL. No date has been set. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the Suncoast Humane Society in Englewood, FL.
