Our mother cared very deeply about civil rights in the U.S. Particularly given the current political situation in the United States, she was more concerned than ever. She would appreciate time, energy, and funds being shared in her memory towards this issue. Please consider donating time or your labor to the ACLU (the American Civil Liberties Union) either nationally or locally, to the Franklin County Humane Society in Virginia (where she found her beloved Ember and Oliver), and/or to any organization or movement working towards making our country a safer, more inclusive, and more affirming place for ALL people.

We hope you can join us for the memory of her life on May 20th, the day after what would have been her 76th birthday. Risa and Steven will be hosting an in-person option at their home in Salem, VA - please reach out to them if you'd like to attend. Shanna, Allie, and Leo will be hosting a virtual option over zoom. If you cannot attend, please feel to reach out with stories and/or pictures you'd like us to share during this time.
