Heather's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Heather "Stitch" Hayden, a beloved mother, friend, and pastry chef who left us on February 14, 2022. Born on July 26, 1967, Heather was known to many as "Stitch". She was the kind of person you only meet once in a lifetime and she is dearly missed.
Heather is survived by her daughters, Alayna Baldwin (Miller) and Anna Hayden and her son, Chance Miller. Her bright spirit and loving memory persist, cherished by those lucky enough to have known her. She was predeceased by her mother, Jeanne Schlagel.
A lover of all things comforting and cozy, Heather's favorite foods were baked goods, and she had a particular fondness for Monster Killer Bee. She had eclectic music taste and delighted in the music of Too Short and Adele, with particular reverence for "Son of a Preacher Man" by Dusty Springfield and "Seasons in the Sun" by Terry Jacks. Heather's favorite film, Girl, Interrupted, echoed her own strength and resilience.
A committed San Diego Chargers fan, Heather found joy in simple pleasures like playing bingo and MyVegas. A lover of the great outdoors, she thrived when fishing and enjoyed spending time at Bear Lake, Bear River, and Echo Lake. Alongside these pastimes, Heather cared deeply about child advocacy and would do everything in her power to make a difference.
Heather will be remembered as a loving and caring woman, whose spirit was as vibrant as her favorite color, emerald green. She always reminded us to be good people, regardless of where we come from or what kind of day we're having - a lesson that will continue to guide those who knew her.
Among her numerous accomplishments, Heather prided herself on graduating from the Park City Culinary Arts School as a pastry chef, a testament to her passion for baking. Her legacy is one of generosity and caring, reflected in the love she gave to her community and her family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas as she always hoped it to be a time to have all her children together.
In remembrance of Heather, we find comfort in her favorite pastimes and teachings, remembering her as the warm, caring, and incredible woman she was. Her spirit continues to guide and inspire, living on in the hearts of those she touched.
