Hazel's obituary
Hazel Armstrong was born May 01, 1942, in Webb Mississippi to the late Clint Stockard Sr. and Ruthie Mae Stockard (Gaines) of Grenada, MS. She was the 7th child born of ten to that union. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Willie Ray, Willie James, Willie Bea, and Clint Jr. and her two sisters, Bobby Ruth Love and Dorothy Stockard. She gave her heart to Christ at an early age and was baptized. She attended First Baptist Church for many years.
She was a faithful member and served on the Usher Committee of First Baptist Church for many years. She was a loyal member of the Eastern Star Order.
On September 27 1965, Lester Armstrong, Sr. and Hazel Stockard were happily married and to that union four kids were born. They have one daughter, Glenda and three boys, Lester (Gloria), Sherman (Latonia) and Mark (Anita).
Hazel met Larry Lane in May of 1971, in Malden, Missouri and to that union three kids were born. Regina Jackson, Genice Jackson (Brian), and Clarence Armstrong-Lane (Trina). In the late 70’s, she moved with Larry and kids to Jonesboro, to be closer to Larry’s Job. They lived there as a family for over 20 years. She worked for several years at All Clean cleaning services and then later retired there until Larry’s death in 1994.
Hazel then moved to Florida in March 2010 to be with family and the warm sunshine. She attended Mt Zion Baptist Church in Lakeland, FL and was a loyal member until her homecoming.
Hazel departed her life on 1:17 am 20 July 2018 at her Florida hospice home at the glorious age of 76 with her family by her side.
Hazel leaves to cherish her memories, a loving sister, Joella (Stockard) Dukes, her children, Brenda, Charlene, Glenda, Lisa, Regina, Genice (Brian), Terry, Sherman (Latonia), Mark (Nita), Jewel, and Clarence (Trina), sisters-in laws, Charlene Reed and Julie Tate and two brother-in laws, Bruce (Martha) & Todd (Cassandra), and a host of grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love…1 Cor. 13:13
