Dear Lopez Family, my sincere condolences. Losing someone you love is never easy, and it’s even harder when their life feels cut short.
The Bible gives us real comfort at John 11:11, Jesus compares death to a peaceful sleep, and Jehovah promises to wake our loved ones again. Acts 24:15 reminds us of that beautiful hope of the resurrection. May this hope give you comfort and strength as you look forward to seeing Hayden again.

I don’t even know where to begin. We used to have so much fun together. Me, Terrell ,Dylan and Hayden used to all skate and go to high school together for a while whenever he was down in Tennessee. Me and Terrell lived close to each other Dylan and Hayden lived close to each other. So we were all 4 at someone’s house. (Whoevers parents weren’t tired of us yet) We all met as young teenagers there were others that came and went in our group but it was always us four. We were inseparable. Then Hayden moved and we all stayed. But we all still talked all the time. he just drove all the way to Tennessee to come hang out with us for my wedding . And not even a month ago we were all four in a group call talking about a snowboarding trip. He was an amazing friend. We were wild kids. Always skating in school hallways. One time I remember right after we got done eating breakfast in the cafeteria Hayden grabs his skateboard stands on the cafeteria table and proceeds to Ollie off of the table he lands it of course but the shocking part is no one said a word to us and none of us got in trouble I could go on for hours about stuff we used to do and how funny and free spirited he is but I won’t, well because of legal reasons. I hope everyone is able to grieve and able to talk to someone. I am terribly sorry for everyone’s loss close family especially. He really was and always will be an amazing friend, kind soul and free spirit I know I’ll never meet anyone close to Hayden. You will be missed.

Last story from me:
Around 2023 I had to move out of the place I lived in north campus quickly and unexpectedly. I owned a BMW e30 that I had built around 2017 but at that time it was disassembled and in a state of disrepair.
I was on track to be forced to sell it for essentially scrap value as I no longer had anywhere to keep it and it wasn’t drivable.
Hayden stepped up and offered to store it for me in his storage unit. He told me he “didnt want to see me be forced to sell it for nothing” and I accepted. He paid to keep that car safe for a long time while we played phone tag about fixing it.
I did pay him money for this favor but not as much as It actually cost to maintain the unit. Not as much as I should have.
Not long before he passed I encouraged him to meet up with me so we could “get that car out and close up the unit” he responded that there was no rush and I could take all the time I needed. I remember him sounding suprised and laughing about it as if it was no big deal all the while I felt bad for burdening him with my own car troubles.
That’s just who he was, quietly dependable and incredibly giving.

Hayden was such a kind guy. He always ran around with the same people i did in high school, and he was always fun to be around. Never had a bad time around him. He was sweet, respectful, funny, kind… anything you could ask for in a young guy! I am so sad to hear about this loss.

The first night I met Hayden was ontop of the parking garage of the Oasis on lake Travis in the middle of the night. He was hanging out there with friends as many kids did at the time. We knew eachother vaguely. He was very interested in my turbocharged Miata. For whatever reason I tossed him the keys and let him take it for a quick spin with me in the passenger seat (something I don’t normally do even with close friends). I still don’t know why I let him(essentially a stranger at the time) drive my car that night but it think it meant a lot to him and we were friends ever since.

One time myself, Hayden, and a few of his friends drove straight to the Texas coast in the middle of the night on a whim just because we wanted to see the ocean. I loved his spontaneity and drive. I respected and appreciated him deeply.
