Hattie's obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hattie Mae Malone Whitrock, who left this world on June 1, 2024. Hattie was born on March 3, 1937, in Nashville, TN, to the late Robert and Ethel Malone. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Hollis Whitrock, her son, Eric Whitrock, her daughter, Holly Whitrock Steele, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Gavin Whitrock.

Hattie spent her life in the service of others, embodying true selflessness and unconditional love. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse, known for her compassion and commitment to her patients. Every summer, Hattie was the head cook at the church summer camps, preparing meals for hundreds of teenagers with love and care. Her generosity extended to the church community, where she lovingly crafted custom wedding cakes for church members, always refusing payment.

In her final hours, Hattie was surrounded by her loving family and passed away peacefully at home. Her legacy of kindness and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to experience her warmth and generosity.

A celebration of Hattie’s life will be held on Saturday, June 29th, at 1:00 PM at Sanctuary Christian Fellowship Church, located at 3600 S Clarkson Street, Englewood, CO 80113. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
