HATTIE MAY (MCNEAL) SMITH-MILES, affectionately called Miss Hattie or Mama Hattie by the community she loved and who loved her — was born on Thursday, September 10, 1936 in Tallulah, Louisiana to Clarence “Bill” McNeal Jr. and Georgia May Thomas-McNeal.
