When I drove my mother to Michigan, it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable experiences I ever had with her. During the journey, we had a heart-to-heart conversation, and I got to know a lot of things I was unaware of before. She was a kind-hearted person who loved to share her experiences and wisdom as she aged. We had a great time laughing and bonding over the trip.
Today, as we bid a final farewell to Grandma let us hold and cherish the memories and lessons she left with us. I will never forget the times she taught us how to make cornbread or lectured us about the word of God. I hope she finds everlasting peace.
“What is lovely never dies, but passes into other loveliness.” – Thomas Bailey
Today we learn to treasure grandmother’s memory in a truly special way. We shall overcome challenges that come with grief, as we give thanks to the lessons she taught us, the receipes she cooked for us, and the toughness we inherited from her. Rest in peace grandma.
