Harry John Gilmore passed away on May 31, 2023 in Danville, Kentucky. Born on January 5, 1959 to Harry and Barbara (Reib) Gilmore, Harry was known to all as “a great horseman” and worked with horses professionally throughout his life. Moving to Kentucky in the late 1970s to work for legendary trainer Frank Bradshaw, he had a special understanding and connection with young horses, teaching many others to work with and show them. Along with horses, he had a special connection with cats. Harry spent his free time hunting, fishing, and golfing with good friends and was also an avid gardener. He loved historical documentaries, old westerns and Ted Lasso. Harry is preceded in death by his sister, Dianna Gilmore, his father, Harry Gilmore, and his mother, Barbara Gilmore. Harry is survived by his life partner, Katherine Andrews, his son, Nathan Gilmore (Jamie Gilmore), his sister, Daun Wickline (Don Wickline), his niece Leah Ball (John Ball), his nephews Ethan Wickline and Tristen Turpin, his grandson Graham Gilmore and granddaughter Sutton Gilmore, great nephew Micah Ball and great niece Chandler Kate Ball. A celebration of life will be held in Danville at Cambus-Kenneth Farm, 1567 N. Danville Bypass (across from 1st Baptist Church entrance), 4 pm Tuesday, June 13.
