Harry and I connected from the first moment we met in July 2012. By January 2013 he was proposing to me in front of all of his friends. We were married the following August. We figured, that if we made our wedding anniversary close my birthday, we wouldn't forget.
We loved going to the beach for as long as Harry could walk. Once he fell, we would still go to the beach. We'd park where we could see the water and feed the birds french fries, and just spend time alone together, listening to all kinds of music, and talking about everything and nothing. We enjoyed that time.
We also loved the time we spent with the great grandkids. Harry looked forward to everytime we either went to their house, or they came to us for lunches once a week. Even when he could hardly get around near the end, he had to be with those babies. He loved them dearly.
Harry and I left nothing unsaid. There are no regrets. No wishing I'd said more. We were best friends, as well as husband and wife.
There's a big hole in our family without Harry (bumpy). I miss him terribly everyday.

I met Harry when I was 14 years old, we were both freshmen at Hayward High School. Harry was always a bit quiet and shy in class. He didn't speak much but when he did it was usually something funny to make us laugh. Everyone liked him because he was one of those likable people. Once in a while he would hang out with me and another guy named Dave Rasmussen. We would make him laugh. The more he would laugh, the more we made him laugh. After graduation I never saw him again. Thanks to Facebook him and I re-connected. Now both Harry and Dave are gone but I will forever cherish the fun times and laughs with both of them. A tough Marine, Harry will be missed. Rest in peace my ol’ buddy!

For a few months in 1994, my brother Harry and I were meeting at the Bijou Cafe in PDX for breakfast once a week. On one of those occasions around Thanksgiving, as we exited the cafe, a homeless Marine was sitting with a sign that read: "Disabled Viet Nam Marine Needs help." After a few minutes of talk, Harry reached into his wallet and gave the guy 3 $20 bills. This is just an example of my brother's generous spirit throughout the years. He was human and had his own demons like the rest of us, but his generosity to those less fortunate was iconic.

I knew Harry for some years, he was my supervisor, Harry was a generous person, .He also would come to our churches Monday night feeding the homeless under the bridge in West Salem. Harry was good when it came to those things and generous to a fault. I was sorry to hear about his troubles over the years. Harry was a strong person to go through all he did, Karrie will surely miss him. Sorry for your loss Karrie, you guys were so good together. I still remember the Hippie wedding on the beach at Lincoln City. great time
