Ed's obituary

The family of Harry Edward “Ed” Avery is deeply saddened to announce his passing on the morning of November 14, 2025 at Orlando Regional Medical Center at the age of 64 years. He was born on May 18, 1961 in Cocoa, Florida and was a graduate of Cocoa High School’s class of 1979. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Kandy Avery, his adult children Autumn Stokes and Tyler Avery, their spouses Jeremy Stokes and Rebecca Avery, his three grandchildren, his sister Deborah Wilson, and his brothers James and Donald Futch.
Ed will be best remembered for his generosity, friendliness, and humility. He notably worked multiple jobs at Kennedy Space Center, as well as more recent jobs as an appliance repair technician for Sears and for Best Buy. Ed is a former member of various churches in Brevard county, Florida as well as the Elk's Lodge of Titusville, Florida. He spent many years as “Pastor Duck,” children's pastor at Space Coast Assembly of God. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and in recent years, working on his school bus-to-tiny home conversion project.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 25 at Fox Lake Park in Titusville, FL beginning at 11 AM. The Avery family asks that guests please bring seating and a dish to share for the celebration of life potluck.
More information will be provided via Ed's Facebook page and at the celebration of life service regarding a charitable donation option in Ed's memory, in lieu of flowers.
