Harriet's obituary
Harriet, “Hattie”, was raised on a farm in South Dakota with 4 siblings and her parents, Dean Ivan Goodfellow and Hortense Goodfellow. She met the love of her life, Leon Landon as a teenager, and they remained married and lovingly devoted to each other until his death in 2009. They moved to California in their twenties and welcomed two children, Brad Landon and Jim Landon. They lived in California for the remainder of their lives, and Harriet always spoke about how she missed her family in South Dakota and Minnesota. One of her favorite stories to tell was about her little brother, Marc, and how he would always tag along on her dates with Leon when they first started dating. Marc preceded her in death in 1983 and she never forgot about him.
Harriet had a career as a teacher and was loved by her students. She was known for her child-like sense of humor and good natured personality. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother to her children and grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a loyal and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and sister.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dean Ivan Goodfellow/Hortense Goodfellow, Brother Marc Goodfellow, Brother Vance Goodfellow, Sister, Joyce Goodfellow, Husband Leon Landon. She is survived by her Sons Brad Landon and James Landon, Grandson Erik Landon, Granddaughter Shannon (Dave) Sherrill, Great Grandaughters, Saylor Jasmer, Violet Dubois, Natalie Sherrill, Emily Sherrill, and Great Grandson Chandler Sherrill and Great Great Granddaughter, Winnie Sherrill. She is also survived by her brother Steve (Arloine) Goodfellow, and many nieces and nephews that she adored and loved very much.
