Harold's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Harold "Papa" Tanks, affectionately known to many as Double T or Tony the Tiger but preferred Big Tony. Born on May 27, 1951, Harold departed from this life to his heavenly abode on March 24, 2025.
Harold is survived by his beloved Wife, Carolyn, of 55yrs., and their two children; Son Harold Tanks Jr (Shelly), Daughter Denise Tanks (Joey)and 3 granddaughters; Shyla Rayne, Lauren Tanks-Steele, and Tatianna Tanks, who blessed Harold with two great-grandsons. He is also survived by his brothers; Stanley, Clarence, Keith, Ralph, Michael and David Tanks, and his sister Sheila Bennett. He was predeceased by his brother Karl Tanks, his father Stanley Tanks Sr., and his mother Mary Tanks Fitch.
Harold was a true family man and a man of God. He showed his strength in his unwavering love and protection for his loved ones. Renowned as the 'King Country', Harold's life was adorned with unique accomplishments; he could make a Cummins L10 sing a song, and he could spread 21A stone like a blanket. A gifted storyteller, he had the knack of making any story sound believable and was known for his own homemade country slang. His favorite recreational activities were fishing, hunting and sharing wonderful tales around the campfires.
Harold's enduring legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. His life was a testament to the saying 'Be Strong, but Don't mess with his Family.' This lesson, among many others he shared, will continue to guide his family and loved ones. For All of those who truly knew Harold, He had one saying that would make anyone Smile:

Harold was indeed the epitome of strength, love, and protection, leaving an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to have known him. He will be dearly missed, but his words of wisdom and cherished memories will forever reside in our hearts.
