I am so saddened to hear of Dr. Geist’s passing today. I was a patient of his for many years, never wanting to relinquish his being my dental provider until he finally said he had to transfer me as he was cutting down his hours and thinking of retiring! He was a dentist who went the extra mile for me in the care of my teeth. He was an advocate for his patients, passionate and excellent in what he did. He always spoke about his family and and I remember all the pictures he had in his office of his children. I will always remember his kindness, concern, and am so grateful to have known him. I am thinking of all of you.

Alyson,

I was saddened to hear of Dean’s passing.  I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family healing prayers and comforting hugs.

I was heart broken to learn of Dean’s passing.  I worked with him for 7 1/2 years at Glisan.  He was intelligent, generous, capable, driven and we worked hard.  But it was so rewarding.  He always treated me well and had my best interests at heart.  He was so proud of his family and called Alyson a sweetheart.  When he left to go work at Clackamas I missed him more than I ever realized I would.

Alyson, I am praying that God gives you, Natalie, Annabella and Gage the strength and comfort to navigate the difficult days ahead.

Love,

Barbara Graaff

Thinking of the entire Geist/Portis/Bixby family at this incredibly difficult time.  I wish I had the right words to ease the myriad of emotions you all are experiencing at this time.

I send you wishes of peace and comfort as you forge your way through the grieving process which will be unique to each of you and rightfully so.

While I didn't know Dean very well, there was one thing I did know and that was he was very proud and loved you all.  He spoke so highly of each of you when we had our casual chats in the cul de sac from time,  with the frequency of such interactions increasing over the last couple of years.

Please know I am here for you in whatever way makes sense for you.

I grew up with Dean in The Dalles and our families were close friends.  I have many fond memories of camping, boating and family events at the local Eagle’s club.  We learned to two step to the songs of the local house band and put up with our parent’s prodding to get on the dance floor.  He was such great person—always kind and super intelligent.  He will be missed by many.  Rest In Peace, Dean.  My deepest condolences to his family.

My words cannot fully express the sadness I felt after learning about Dean's passing.  He was a great dentist, respected by many.  Dean was the first dentist I worked with when I was hired at Clackamas.

Give him a microscope and he could find that extra canal when performing a root canal.  His expertise on extracting wisdom teeth which he called "wizzies".    Remembering back in the day when he would "Buss The Tower" to celebrate a long days work.

Alyson,

Dean loved his family.

He showed off his family by portraying a bulletin board full of pictures at work.

May you and your family ever treasure the wonderful times you had with Dean .

My prayers are with you and your whole family.

Sheba

So sorry for your family’s great loss.  I was very blessed to have had many enjoyable and memorable times with Dean pursuing his passions for golf, hunting, and fishing.  I could probably write 50 or more stories of our times together.   Although these times were always fun, Dean often added that something only he could add to make them great.  I look forward to meeting him again in Heaven.

I am so sorry to hear of Deans passing.  Barry, William and I have such fond memories of Annabella and Gage in the younger year's. Two awesome kids you both raised. I remember the first time I met Dean. I was a hyper mom who read too much, and asked if his home had porn, guns or drugs. He must of thought I was crazy, but was very nice about it. Gage and Bella have a special place in our hearts. We live on a ranch in Bend with an in law apartment if any of you need to getaway. So very sorry for your loss. No words.

There are no words except he was loved by many.

My heart goes out to the family.

I’m so sorry Dean was a longtime friend.  He will be missed
