Harold's obituary
Harold ‘Bud’ Walter Foss, 81, of Mesquite, NV, passed away on October 25th, 2022, due to natural causes. He was blessed to have been with family when he passed, enjoying a beautiful day trip in Utah.
Bud was born on April 8th, 1941. He married his wife, Loretta, in 1961 and they went on to have three children, Cheryl (Peter), Robin (Michael), and Robert (Robyn). Bud was also a loving grandfather to Stephanie, Alexander, Christopher, Nicholas, Brian, Michelle, Brandon, and Phoenix, as well as great-grandfather to Ethan, Avery, Patrick, William, Ryker, Gatlin, and Wesson.
Bud had many careers during his long life but was best known and respected for the 17 years he spent as a firefighter with the North Palos Fire Protection District where he earned the rank of Lieutenant. In 1989 Bud moved to Las Vegas and spent the remainder of his life continuing to help and protect people. He had a very outgoing personality and loved nothing more than meeting and spending time speaking with new people. Bud was a genuine human being, very honest and upfront with his thoughts – you always knew where you stood with him. He was also famous for his stories; he loved sharing them with his family and friends. Even if it was the same story being retold, he had such an engaging personality that we never got tired of listening to them. The last few years of his life were spent in Mesquite with Loretta, frequently going on trips to visit family while continuing to enjoy his lifelong passion for golf.
His family and friends will miss him greatly, Bud made an impact in each life he touched and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Services and memorandum will be private family affairs. We deeply appreciate the outpouring of well wishes that have been offered by those who knew him, it is a beautiful testimony to the impact that he made in his life.
