He is survived by wife Patricia Adams; daughter Sharon Leach; stepsons Steve Lamonte and James Lamonte, sister Irene McDaniel, grandchildren, Jennifer (Richard), Danny (Lynne), Jeremy, and Timothy (Whitney). 8 Great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Lucille Newton, and his nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Peter and Anna (Reill)

Harold quit high school early and joined the Army National Guard and worked various odd jobs. When the Korean War broke out in 1950 Harold went active duty and was shipped over to Korea. He was involved in several military campaigns and earned 6 Korean Service Bronze Stars and Army infantry medal. He left the Army in Sept. 1952, separating in Colorado Springs. He married Pat Simpson (deceased) of Colorado Springs where they went on to have 3 beautiful daughters (Monica, Sharon & Linda). They moved to the Redondo Beach area of Southern California and both began work at McCulloch Motors Corporation. Harold & Pat divorced in February 1963. He met Patricia (Pat) Lamonte (Fitchette) who also worked at McCulloch Motors in 1964 and was married in May 1965. This was a time of unrest in the area where they lived (Watts Riots). They decided to move to Farmington, New Mexico with his two stepsons, where a friend of theirs worked for Bechtel Corporation building a new coal power plant. Harold got on as an apprentice electrician. Once the power plant was built, Harold was laid-off but decided to stay in Farmington. He worked at several jobs to support the family and then landed at a city job as airport manager. He retired with the city. They remained in Farmington until October of 2014 when they moved to Tyler Texas to be closer to family.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, December 27, 2019, at Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery
