Hannelore's obituary

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Hannelore Kaemke on October 15th, 2023,at Maplecrest Care Center in Belvidere, Illinois. Born on June 5, 1941, to a world yet to know the strength of her character, Hannelore left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege to know her. A devoted mother, loving grandmother, and ardent friend, her zest for life and unwavering spirit will forever remain etched in our hearts.

Surviving her are her beloved children Esther (Patrick) Hayes, Cindy Barrerio, Monica (Matthew) Hayes and Michael Kaemke, along with their children and grandchildren, were the joy of Hannelore's life, and brought her so much happiness and fulfillment. Her love for them was boundless, and her devotion undeniable. Their success and well-being were her greatest accomplishment.

Hannelore was predeceased by her dear husband, Dieter Kaemke, with whom she shared an extraordinary bond. Married in the year of 1960, they embarked on a life journey that would be filled with laughter, shared dreams, and an unshakeable love that would stand the test of time. The way she spoke about Dieter, even after his passing, was a testament to a love story that inspired all those who witnessed it. She was also predeceased by her first son Harry (Denise) Kaemke in May of this year and it brought her much sadness and grief.

Despite the trials and tribulations of life, which included losing both of her parents at a young age she was grateful for the bond she shared with her sister Anita whom with her husband Hans raised her as their daughter. Although Hans had predeceased her, Anita is still living in Germany at 97 years of age.

Her favorite pastimes were gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her flowers bloomed as bright as her spirit, and her family blossomed under her love and care. She also had an affinity for a freshly brewed cup of coffee and conversation with our neighbors when we lived on Navajo Drive in Carpentersville.  Dad would call the ladies weekday morning get togethers “coffee clutches “.

Hannelore’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and tenacity. Her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of all who cherished her. Let us remember her not for the sadness of her passing but for the joy and love she gave so freely, the lessons she imparted and the countless precious moments she created. Her journey here may have ended, but her spirit continues to influence and inspire us all.
