At Lewis & Clark, Hannah dedicated an enormous amount of her time personally volunteering, and facilitating opportunities for others, to support local organizations near and dear to her heart. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to any of the designated charitable causes identified here, as part of her legacy. Please see a bit more about each below:

Hannah volunteered frequently at New Avenues for Youth's Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC). She organizaed trips of other students to volunteer there, including for Lewis & Clark's annual MLK Jr. Days of Service. Raised in an LGBTQ+ family and a member of the community herself, supporting the youth was near and dear to her heart.

Hannah was a HUGE animal lover--and was taking a grueling academic load to eventually become a veterinarian. Outside of her packed academic schedule, she organized trips to volunteer at Portland Animal Welfare (PAW), an organization that provides veterinary care to the pets of people experiencing houselessness or extreme poverty.

Later, through her MPH program at the Colorado School of Public Health, Hannah volunteered providing clean needles at a festival, reflecting her passion for harm reduction, and her deep compassion for those struggling with substance abuse. Contribute to New Avenues for Youth

Update from Nov. 14, 2023

Hi everyone, thank you to those who attended the service on Sunday, virtually and in-person. For those who haven't heard, the Colorado School of Public Health has set up a memorial fund of a new biostatistics award for outstanding MPH students, in Hannah's name. The initial fundraising goal is $10,000, which will fund it for 5 years. In the long term, raising $25,000 will allow the school to set up an endowment fund in honor of Hannah, to give the award to students annually, in perpetuity. I encourage you all to read the full text of the award here, which speaks to Hannah's incredible community and contributions at CU and to contribute and share the fund with your networks. This award will cement Hannah's legacy at CU by helping others live up to their full potential.
