Hannah's obituary
In Loving Memory of Hannah Marie Bazi
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Hannah Marie Bazi, a radiant soul whose light touched everyone she met. Hannah was a gifted artist, a lover of horses and sloths, and a young woman with a heart of gold. Her creativity, compassion, and laughter left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Hannah was born on December 30, 2002, to Heather (Schmidt) Bazi. In June 2010, her adoption by her father, David, was lovingly finalized, a moment that forever strengthened their bond.
Hannah began her education in Mattawan schools before moving with her family to Lawton in 2014, later residing in Paw Paw and eventually Chicago. She graduated from Farragut Career Academy in 2021, earning a full scholarship to National Louis University in Chicago.
Throughout her young life, Hannah embraced opportunities to grow and broaden her skills. She worked in customer service, as a restaurant cook and server, and advanced to Assistant Manager at Family Dollar. In each role, she was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and ability to connect with people.
Hannah had a deep passion for animals—big and small. She cared for them with love and compassion, finding joy and purpose in their companionship.
Hannah’s journey was marked by resilience, ambition, and devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her bright spirit, her compassion for all living creatures, and the love she shared with those around her.
Hannah was preceded in death by her beloved Grandma Judy Britten (Hyet), Great-Grandma Alice Britten, and her cherished Nana, Genevieve Panko—each of whom welcomed her with open arms.
She is survived by her loving mother Heather Bazi (Adam) of Lockport, Illinois, and her devoted father David Bazi (Rylan) of Mattawan, Michigan. Hannah was a proud sister to Michael and Kaitlyn, and a loving partner to Luke, with whom she shared a deep bond and two wonderful stepchildren, Isiah and Levi, who adored her.
She is also survived by her grandparents, who loved her deeply and shared in her life with pride and joy. Hannah’s extended family includes many cousins, aunts, and uncles who cherished her and will carry her memory forward with love.
Hannah’s legacy lives on in the art she created, the love she gave, and the memories she leaves behind. Her spirit will forever gallop free, like the horses she loved, and her gentle heart will be remembered in every sloth’s slow, sweet smile.
Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.
