Handong was a really nice person and the first (also the last) time we met was at the University of Toronto in June 2019. He invited me for dinner but I declined because I had to get back home. Never did I know that it would be the last time I saw him. I will miss him. Thanks for all the help he has offered me.

While I did not know him well, I remember very well how extremely helpful Handong was with each technical question I asked him, no matter how dumb I thought the question was. Handong was generous with his time and always wanted to help everyone around him.
We will all miss him greatly.
Handong was a well known character among the greater power electronics circle for his published “North America power electronics ‘Fei yue’ handbook” connecting many student applicants and faculty advisers. I appreciate his hard work and kind heart. He will be missed.
I want to express my sincerest condolences to Handong's family and many friends. I have posted a few photos below that Handong had posted on July 19, 2020, writing, "I will you all and the time at Knoxville. Joining UT is definitely one of the best decisions I ever made in my life." Handong excelled at many things, and also helped many students and others. I will miss him dearly.
