I was so saddened to hear of Halsey’s passing. I worked with him at Prime. He had a peaceful presence about him. Always smiling and thoughtful. No bravado, just a gentle, self assured and diligent manner. He was a kind soul. Rest in peace sir

To our wonderful Whitney families & Halsey's friends,

I am so sorry we were unable to join you today for the celebration of Halsey's life.  I have so many memories from our early years together.  Events at Gran's house, be it a Thanksgiving gathering or an afternoon playing in the creek, times on Sprite Island or at the Whitney's.  I've been searching for pictures to share & will do so soon.

When I think of Halsey, immediately an image of his smile & him laughing comes to mind.  He could be a part of the high jinks that came whenever a cluster of the cousins gathered, but could also become hper focused on something that caught his interest at the moment; much like his dad!

He had such deep devotion to his family.  We pray that you each will find inner peace in the days ahead.

Our love to you all~

Kit (Stoutenburgh) Olson  (cousin from Minnesota)

Praying for you and sharing in your sadness as we remember our beloved Halsey. He was a wonderful friend, true gentleman and follower of Jesus. I always looked forward to seeing him, appreciated his company and was blessed by our times together. I enjoyed doing projects with him and getting the boat ready to sail. He gave us a great example of grace, much love and patience. Halsey and Tish has a great partnership and genuinely treasured one another. They hosted many dinners and shared their home generously.

Halsey and I were elementary school classmates at the Royal School in Darien. My family moved away that year, but not before Halsey and I started to become friends. One of the only times I went to his house, he pulled out an LP record and introduced me to the band Chicago - when we were 10 years old! I always think of him when I hear Chicago, a band I still listen to occasionally. Out of the blue, I contacted Halsey via FB about a year or so ago. We agreed to meet up one day on the Cape. It didn’t happen, mainly because I live on the other side of the planet. Even then, I remember Halsey being a gentle and kind friend. Even then, Halsey was showing me how to treat others. My thoughts are with his family and close friends.

I always found Halsey to be such a kind person with a big smile. He was the type of man who made you feel peaceful and seen. I remember a story of  him helping Emily in a "girl" moment when her Mom was out of town.  His actions spoke to me of his selflessness. I know he will be greatly missed.
