Mrs. Young was like a grandmother to me. I spent so much time in her home, always alongside her granddaughter, Stephanie, and in those countless moments, she became a true part of my heart. Her warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched my life in ways I will always cherish.
I’ll never forget the first time I entered her home and was captivated by her beautiful plants. I reached out to touch her African violet, and without missing a beat, she popped my hand and firmly said, “Don’t touch my plants.” It was at that moment I realized this petite, small-framed lady was not to be played with. From that day on, she welcomed me with open arms and a full plate, making her home a second home to me.
I will forever cherish those memories, and Mrs. Young will forever remain in my heart.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this difficult time.
With deepest sympathy,

My Aunt Gwennie was one of the most loving, caring individuals you could ever meet. She would help in any way she could. For instance, I recall as a young girl about 5 years old, our family lived in Culpeper Virginia and my mother wanted me to have a headstart in school, but the schools in VA didn't have that opportunity. My Uncle Levi and Aunt Gwennie allowed me to move in with them and their 4 boys at that time to go to school in the great "Washington DC". That generosity meant a lot to our family. They were always known for opening their homes and hearts to most anyone. Our families stayed very close over the years.
I truly loved my Aunt and her entire family. They all will be terribly missed.
Love, Wanda❤️
