Her legacy of genuine love, sprinkled with hearty laughs, will be deeply remembered and missed.
Gwendolyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bobby Earl White, her father, Joe Simmons, her mother, Margaret Maxey, and her sister, Tammy Maxey. She is survived by her sons, Bryan and Cory Huff, granddaughters Sierra Huff, Alexis Huff, and Michaela Burton, grandsons Cory Huff JR, Jaylen Huff, and Jacory Huff, her sister, Sandra Hawthorne. and brothers Kevin Simmons, Gregory Simmons, Eric Maxey, and Tracy Simmons. She also shares a special bond with her sister Tanya Israel
The proud mother of two who embraced motherhood on October 2, 1972, and April 28, 1978, Gwendolyn was a fun-loving woman. She had an unyielding love for R&B music, and her beloved TV Shows included 'My 600 pound life,' 'young and the restless,' and 'the price is right.' She also loved playing Scrabble and Crossword Puzzles and enjoyed watching performances from 'Americas Next Top Model.'
Gwendolyn's favorite color was purple, which reflected her royal and passionate nature. She was a woman of great taste, relishing anything sour and enjoying her favorite drink, Coke. Her life was filled with love and compassion, and her best lesson for those around her was to always treat others with love, to give when they were able, and never to bite the hand that feeds.
Gwendolyn will be remembered and missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in peace, and her legacy continue to inspire and soothe those she left behind.
