Gwen's obituary

Gwen Valerie Kempson, of Carmel Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on January 13, 2026 surrounded by family.

Gwen, born August 18th, 1953 in Aiken, SC, was known for her love for Jesus and those she knew, as shown by her hospitality and servant's heart. Gwen would often be found joyfully preparing food for family and friends, and enjoyed watching her large family gather at her home. One of her favorite verses was 3 John 1:4

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."

Gwen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jeffrey Kempson; brothers Lyn and Ian Nelson; 12 Children: Jason (Diana), Joshua (Natasha), Amanda (Zeno Tutino), Jared (Allison), James (Tabitha), Sarah (Pedro), Joel (Christy), Justin (Jenni), Emily (Nathan Kassabaum), Jordan (Kristin), Lydia (Tyler DeHaven), Jesse (Tia); and 33 grandchildren.

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Phyllis Nelson; her brother Gary Nelson; her grandson Harvey Kempson.

The Celebration of Life will be held at Castleton Community Church on February 14th @ 2:00PM.
