Memo's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Guillermo “Memo” Herrera, who departed from this world on April 10, 2022. Born on February 24, 1968, Memo was a beloved husband, father, and friend renowned for his affable nature, infectious joy, and vibrant spirit, making him the heart of every gathering. His valor was admired by all who crossed his path, and his legacy of kindness, empathy, loyalty, and determination will forever endure in the hearts of many.
Memo is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Melville Herrera, whom he married in 1993. His children, William and Samantha Herrera, along with step-daughter Hannah Robles, will forever hold dear and cherish the lessons and memories shared with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monico and Isabel Herrera.
His life brimmed with joy evident in his passion for music encompassing Led Zeppelin, Los Terriculas, Los Bukis, and Conjunto Primavera. He relished homemade meals, adored Pepsi before transitioning to water, and occasionally savored a Bud Light. A fervent supporter of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Rams, and Raiders, he found solace in moments with family, friends, and even found joy in work when possible. His preferred TV shows included the Honeymooners, Leave it to Beaver, and the Real Housewives of OC, with “It’s a Wonderful Life” holding a special place in his heart.
His teachings emphasized the essence of leadership over following, encapsulated in his words, “If your friend jumps off a cliff, are you going to follow?” His deep affection for God, his wife, children, and his cat permeated every aspect of his life. His favored colors, blue and black, mirrored his persona - profound, serene, and resilient.
A viewing for Memo took place on May 16, 2022, at 10:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel West Covina. Although Memo’s departure has left an irreplaceable void, his spirit will continue to thrive in the hearts of all who cherished him.
His legacy of kindness, empathy, and bravery will endure. He regarded everyone as family, radiating immediate warmth and acceptance to all he encountered. Memo wasn’t simply a man; he embodied a beacon of positivity, epitomizing love and valor in each step. His laughter and life lessons will be cherished, and his memory will continue to illuminate the lives of those privileged to have known him.
