Guilford's obituary

On March 17, Gil passed away surrounded by family. He was 79.

Gil was born on April 16, 1944 and grew up in the Boston area. He received his Bachelor's degree from Boston University and his Master's degree from Oklahoma State University.

Gil had a passion for speaking Spanish, which led him to volunteering for the Peace Corps in Paraguay, and then becoming a Spanish teacher. He continued his journey in education as a guidance director and also worked in the educational testing field at Measured Progress. He then found another way to utilize his Spanish and became a courtroom interpreter.

Gil was a gifted cartoonist, storyteller and historian. He left behind volumes of cartoons, short stories, family lore and genealogy that will be treasured for generations to come. He was a softball player and Little League umpire. And he collected interesting old license plates.

He is survived by his children Tanis (Zac, Hazel & Pearl), Lindsay (Chloe, Colby & Theo), and Jed (Kayleigh & Cora), ex wife Cheri, sister Ruth, and many friends.
