Griff's obituary
Griffith “Griff” Hilton Parker III, 77, of El Mirage, AZ passed away after multiple battles with cancer on October 16, 2024.
Born to Billie Schnebly and Griffith Parker Jr. in Spokane, WA, Griff grew up in San Diego, CA. He was a cross-country runner in high school and often ran through the hills near Naval Air Station Miramar. He later served as an aircraft mechanic stationed through Miramar.
Griff held interesting jobs such as operating a street sweeper business with his father and driving a Yellow Taxicab, but he spent his thirty-year career as a photo science engineer and “Hallmarker” in Kansas City, MO, retiring in 2010.
Roads trips were one of Griff’s favorite things and he sometimes drove for days to support or celebrate a loved one. He enjoyed researching his ancestry and often offered his photography skills to memorialize special events.
An avid sports fan, Griff had season tickets to NASCAR at the Kansas Speedway and the Kansas City Chiefs games. Griff and Donna were even married at a Chiefs vs. Chargers tailgate party. He attended the Ryder Cup at both Medinah and Hazeltine, enjoyed the NASCAR Richard Petty Driving Experience, scored a hole-in-one in golf. a 299 in bowling, and spent hours shooting pool with his brother.
Griff is survived by his wife Donna; daughters Leawna (Martin) Parker and Jeannette (Tom) Williams; brother Stephen (Robin) Parker; grandchildren Amethyst Parker, Aimee (Clayton) Nelson, Haleigh (John) Owens, Emily Williams, and Abbey Williams; many loving nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren, in-laws, and friends.
Griff was preceded in death by his parents Billie and Griffith Parker Jr.; sisters Charlotte Lizarraga, Patricia Parker, and Juliet Somers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mayo Clinic (Cancer or Research Center) or American Cancer Society.
