Gregory's obituary
Greg was a man with many passions and projects. He was the most generous person with an open heart. Our Dad left no guessing in our minds about how much he loved us. He called Brent, who we all know is a giant, "Sunshine" and meant it. He called Me (Dani) "Sweetie" and made us feel like we were the most important people in the world. Greg was also a proud Grandpa to our two girls, Delilah and Carmela who call him Grandpa Pink or Grandpa Goat (because of his hair and he pretended to be a goat with them). He would do anything these tiny humans asked him to do and loved every moment. Dad had many "heart to hearts" with anyone he loved including old stories with my husband Jose and being blessed with a patient listening ear by Brent's fiancé Taylor. Dad was loved by his family including his sister Kathy, brother Pete and is now hanging out in the next realm with his little brother Steve, brother in-law Joe, and his parents Wanda and Pete, whom he loved very much. As some of you might know, Brent and I were lucky enough to have two bonus siblings, Sara and Shaun (our cousins) and Dad gave us the best memories from all "us kids" living together, having Wednesday night dinners, coaching our sports, to going on hikes and having all the beach days, he loved them and he nurtured our relationship to make sure we apricated our bond. Greg was a Carpenter and Craftsman by trade but also had many talents and hobbies including: massage therapy/acupuncture/energy work (he was a healer), crystal balls, any house project (including collecting ALL the tools), surfing, paddle boarding, out rigger, and photography. If you gave Dad time, you would go from a stranger to a trusted confidant within 2 hours and he would provide you with shelter in his own home, give you the shirt off his back, take in your dog and buy you the best tri-tip to fill your tummy. Dad was a sweetheart, but I have to honor his other qualities; Greg played by the rules and wanted to make sure you did too, it was hard for him to understand why people and the world around him would do "the wrong thing" when their was a higher road available, he lived by the Golden Rule. Thank you each for taking the time to read this, that you to everyone who has reached out, thank you for for being a part of our family (in our family, friends are included). Thank you for being the people you are and in the words of our Dad...in life not matter what you do, building a house or diving into an adventure..."Measure twice and cut once". With all the love from Brent, me and our family, we appreciate you, we are devastated, but we will be okay. Dad, Greg, Daddio, Pops, Grandpa Pink, Grandpa Goat is stubborn as hell and therefore he will be by our sides every second until our energies meet in his new realm again. Until then, next time you see a sunset send a shout out to him, he will be there with you too.
