Greg's obituary
Greg Padgitt, formerly of Rensselaer, passed away on March 12, 2026, age 75. He was born in Rensselaer on September 22, 1950 to Keith and Ruby Grace Padgitt.
Greg graduated from Rensselaer Central High School with the class of 1968. He loved playing basketball for the Bombers, and was a good friend to many classmates.
Greg spent most of his working life in the wholesale plumbing business and owned 4-County Supply west of Rensselaer. He later owned and operated Crushers auto salvage near Monon.
In 1994, Greg married Kim West, who survives, and they resided in Carmel. Also surviving are four children: Tyler Padgitt of Springfield, Missouri, Margaret Smith of Noblesville, George Padgitt of Carmel and Grace Smith of Indianapolis.
Greg was blessed with eight grandchildren who were his great joy. Two sisters also survive: Marilyn Hayes of Columbus and Kathy (Dave) Staddon of Rensselaer. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother A.K. Padgitt, and brother-in-law Bob Hayes.
Greg was described by many as “the life of the party”, someone who could light up a room. His absence will be keenly felt by his family and friends for many years.
