I'm so sorry to hear (so belatedly) of Greg's passing. I was so happy to find him on a visit to Murphy's after moving to Alexandria. He was a kind and loving soul. RIP.

Here’s to you Greg.  Betting you and John are spending many hours together at the Heavenly IRISH Pub! Much love, M.

Greg was the kindest man I had the privilege of knowing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all for the loss of our loved one. Cherish the fond memories that make you smile and last a life time! Cheers Janet with you @ the Pub. Peace

Davis family….I just found out today about your tremendous loss. I knew Greg from Yorktown and I cannot remember a kinder, sweeter and funnier guy in that entire school…probably all of northern Virginia! He did and probably will always have a piece of my heart..sooomany memories! Keg parties at lunch etc.

I am so sorry for the loss it’s got to be unimaginable.  Love to you all❤️

To Diana and Janet: I am so sorry for your loss. I happened across Greg’s obituary. He was a fun loving cousin.

Love, Becky Davis Jones

My deepest condolences to Greg's family, I grew up in Arlington, VA & graduated Yorktown HS with Greg in 1975. We had many fun times together, he was a great, kind & always cheerful person.

John Popovich

For 18 years, Sunday morning brunch at Murphy’s was our ritual. Mass at Old St. Mary’s in Chinatown ended at 9:45am and John McCaughey walked through the door at Murphy’s greeting Greg at 10:05am while I parked the car. Greg always saved the table in front of the fireplace for us and the many friends who joined us every Sunday.  Greg’s favorite greeting for John was “how’s it going?”…and then he would race to the other end of the bar before John could begin his dissertation. We loved our time with Greg as did so many others. I smile at the thought of John chattering away at Greg in The Heavenly Pub as he races to the other end of the bar.

I look forward to the memorial for Greg in Alexandria next year.

Much love, Michelle McCaughey
