Gregory's obituary

This Memorial is dedicated to Mr. Gregory Fryson Sr., who left us on November 6, 2024. Gregory was brought into this life on January 27, 1952, to his beloved parents, Clara Mae Fryson and Simeon Fryson Jr., along with his brothers Simeon Fryson III & Richard Fryson, who also preceded him in death. Although their time together was short, he lived a full life, filled with wisdom, and accomplishment.

Gregory was well-loved by his family and is mourned deeply by his surviving siblings, Patricia Feagin-Fryson and Terry Fryson, and his companion Anita Mitchell.  Gregory's children, Shannon Fryson, Chu Jun Fryson and Gregory Fryson Jr., remember their father as a courageous leader. They will cherish the memories they created together. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and a host of great-nephews, and great.-nieces.  Gregory's pride and joy was his first & Only grandchild Isabella Fryson, who brightened his life in a significant way, and he absolutely adored her. What a special gift his youngest daughter Shannon made for him. A Christmas baby on 12-25-2009.

Gregory lived life to the fullest and did not shy away from his passions. He had an exquisite taste for home-cooked meals,  and his love for Gambino's delicious cakes was well known among his loved ones. During the holidays , he had a special tradition of making homemade eggnog, a treat that everyone looked forward to. Gregory was a versatile music lover, appreciating all genres. His love for entertainment was vast, spanning across various TV shows like his “Westerns” as he called it, with John Wayne. Or old school Bruce Lee movies—such as  Enter the Dragon. Or classics like The Last Dragon.

Gregory  found solace in outdoor activities. He enjoyed fishing, sitting out back of his house watching the sun set and  ducks swim in the pond. He was always ready for a ride on  his Harley Davidson motorcycles, to help clear his mind. At one point, he also had a couple of horses. He had a special bond with his dogs, ranging from a Rottweiler to German shepherd’s, and then a Doberman Pinscher. He also had small dogs, like Missy.  His dedication to his animals was as profound as his love for his family. His fearless personality, wisdom, and love will forever be remembered.

Gregory served his country by joining the military alongside two of his brothers and traveled overseas, a chapter of his life that he held in high regard. He was immensely proud of helping bring life into the world with his three children, and successfully living comfortably, retiring after a fulfilling life of service. Above all, his most cherished accomplishment was being a grandparent to Isabella. His guidance and philosophy to "Be a Leader, not a follower" and that "Everyone has their own path to walk in this life" will continue to inspire his loved ones as they navigate their own journeys.

Gregory's departure from this world has left a void that can never be filled. Although we miss him every day, we take solace knowing that he is at peace. It’s been exactly One year since he left this world but Always in Our Hearts. Rest easy, Papa. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved you.
