Gregory's obituary
Our Beloved Gregory Allen Banks (37) of Dahlonega Ga unexpectantly went to Heaven with his Lord and Savior on December 2, 2024.
Greg was born on October 22, 1987 to Jim and Jennifer Banks on Shepard Air Force Base. Greg and his family moved back to Ohio when he was very young. He graduated from Miamisburg High School where he played Trombone in the band and tennis. After Graduation, Greg moved to Ga where his father's family is from. In 2009, he moved back to Ohio, but a little piece of him remained there and he always talked about returning.
Greg began dating his beloved wife Leah in 2013 and they married on October 7, 2016. Greg and Leah shared many wonderful memories in Ohio, but Ga was calling. Greg shared his dream of moving back to Ga , the home of his beloved Bull Dogs and Braves. Leah had one stipulation, find me a Hallmark town, and in 2017 they bought their little piece of red clay heaven in Dahlonega. In 2023, they left Ohio to start the next chapter of their lives.
Greg was a long time Georgia Bulls Dogs, Atlanta Braves and Columbus Blue Jackets fan. He enjoyed attending games and rock and country concerts. He was an avid boater and spent a lot of time on their boat that was lovingly dubbed The Bacon and Eggs. Greg became a self-dubbed professional smoker and enjoyed sharing his love for good food with others. Greg never knew a stranger and make friends wherever he went. His humor, laugh and genuine passion for life will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his father Jim Banks, Uncle Dainel Banks, Grandpa and Grandma Eugene and Margret Rhodes.
He is survived by his devoted wife Leah, mother Jenny, brothers Christopher and Stephan Banks, mother in law Sue Arnold, Nanny and Papa Banks, and many aunts, uncles, brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews.
Family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday December 21, 2024 at The Dublin Recreational Center located at 5600 Post Road Dublin, Ohio 43017 from 10a-1p. A short service will be held at 10:15am with Gregs favorite food and music immediately after.
